About ETD 2012

ETD symposia are organized and promoted by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD), an international organization that through leadership and innovation promotes the adoption, creation, use, dissemination and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations. The NDLTD also promotes electronic publication and open access to scientific innovation to stimulate and share knowledge worldwide.

This year, for the first time ever, the ETD2012 symposium will be held in an Ibero-American country. The ETD symposium is the leading academic event in the world devoted to electronic theses and dissertations and open access in scholarly communications.

This annual symposium was held recently in Cape Town, South Africa (ETD 2011) - and some of the previous major meetings were in Austin, Texas, USA (ETD 2010); Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA (ETD 2009); and Aberdeen, Scotland (ETD 2008); Sydney Australia (ETD 2005); Berlin, Germany (ETD 2003), with the first meeting in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, in June 1998.
