Invitation

We are pleased to invite you to the 15th International Symposium on Digital Theses and Dissertations - ETD 2012, the first time in its history that event will be held in a Latin American country from Wednesday through Friday, September 12 - 14, 2012 at Hotel Los Delfines in Lima, Peru.

The Symposium is organized and promoted by the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD). The local organizing committee for ETD 2012 is formed by the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC).

ETD 2012 is, clearly, the main academic event in the world dedicated to electronic theses and dissertations which also is complimented by issues related to open access, scientific publication process and the development of digital repositories, including other aspects of international importance.

The program includes paper presentations, keynote speeches, plenary sessions, workshops and poster presentations that have been designed to provide approaches to digital preservation issues, technological developments in institutional repositories, copyright intellectual property issues, digital libraries, national and international initiatives on open access, ETD multimedia, data curation and other issues related to knowledge management. The conferences are aimed at academic authorities, professionals from various disciplines, librarians, researchers, teachers, computer scientists and those who work with and have experience in knowledge management.

Our goal is to explore and share opportunities between Latin America representatives and others around the world, exchanging experiences and expertise in projects about topics about ETD 2012.

We invite you to join us at ETD 2012: "Integrating cultures for the creation and exchange of knowledge  providing opportunities for the future". We are confident that this exchange will enrich everyone professionally and represents a unique opportunity to disseminate and share best practices and ideas for all countries of the world.

We are honored to be your hosts in Peru. We look forward with great enthusiasm and hope that you will also enjoy the Peruvian history and culture.
